he's choo choo cute

well ... the kids are back in school. i thought that the king might have a problem being left home alone with me, but he's too busy playing with whatever he wants to care. he might even like all this freedom - no one telling him no or bossing him around ... perhaps it won't be hard on him after all. (as for me, well that's a different story).

and he has been playing great all day ... one wonderful thing i have learned through my years mommy-ing - i am amazed at how my boys play ... they can entertain themselves and play with toys for hours on end. my girls always seemed to need me to play with them (you know, to dress their dolls and barbies and help "cook" dinner and "eat" with them), so it has been surprising to see how my boys do all on their own. pretty amazing, to be quite honest. and it makes me glad that all these toys we have all over our home are being put to good use.

now, we'll see if this really lasts or if he will be sad once he realizes that it's just he and i every single day for the next few months!

and just for the record ... i'm already counting down the days to spring break!
