kind of funky

thanks to the handful of "deals" sites i check up on, i caught a really good sale on nikes. you know, the funny thing about ordering online is that you can't try it on or even get a really great look at it. so when these funky little shoes arrived, i was more than surprised to find the separated big toe. not so much in a pleasant way, either, but tried them on anyway.

turns out, they are  amazingly comfortable.

and since i love to go sockless ... and i don't have any socks to wear with this kind of shoe ... i get to go sockless in them - yay! (despite the fact that i was actually wearing socks right before i tried them on, thus the funny marks on my foot.)

anyhow - funny looking shoe (bert totally makes fun of them), but very comfy - great for walking. so, i am keeping them.

my newest favorite thing

favorite things come into my life from time to time. this one however, was long awaited and quite overdue. but now that we are together, i don't know that we will ever be apart again.

don't let it's good looks fool you ... it's pretty tough, too. if you have ever seen my kitchen floor, then you will agree that anything that can tackle it is a might machine.

the king and i

i'm not sure why, but the king needed to be snuggled while he napped ... i probably enjoyed being stuck under this 35 pound hunk of a boy a little too much ... he's growing so fast and before i know it he won't even want to be hugged, let alone snuggled.  so i am embracing each chance i get and letting life go on hold for an hour or two.
