the newest happy couple

we went to a party to honor aimee and matthias and their very newly wedded bliss ...

and blissful the evening was.

conversation were some of the more interesting i've had in a while ... now i have to figure out how to get to st. martins - nice!

and, in the spirit of keeping some traditions alive, cinderella showed up and katie roasted aimee - really well, too. she had me in tears, she was good!

and then, of course, more food than i should have ever even thought about eating ... but it's a wedding party - no time to abstain, right? so brats, sauerkraut, goat cheese and pellegrino made for very happy, satisfied, bloated tummy. ahhhhhhh!

what a way to wrap it up

i guess it's official ... 2010 is over and we are into a new year. since we still had one more party on the calendar, i haven't really moved on with the new year ... christmas decorations are still up, exercise regimins are still being thought of, not acted upon, and routines are almost in place, not quite, though.

so it's time, and i can accept that, especially now that we were able to wrap it all up with good food, good friends and good old fits of laughter. could a new year be more welcomed in than by chuck's meregue, being introduced to the term "skullet", a name that tune battle of the sexes, experimenting with a new recipe and having it work out (for a crowd), finding out about ____'s fantasy, watching people's eyes light up over a basket filled with chef-boy-ardee and spam, and getting out just before they were going to make us all dance!  (and to having a super awesome babysitter taking care of the kids, so that bert and i could get and have some fun.)

so welcome, 2011!

i will officially be moving forward today, with a lighter heart and a smile on my face.
